I married my best friend!

And, luckily, I still feel the exact same way about him — except maybe I love him a little more because he remembers to take out the trash every Friday morning and bring me the ads on Sunday from his paper. He doesn’t get mad at me (very often) and never holds a grudge. He knows that I love hot chocolate and flowers and cookie cakes…

Speaking of which, boy is he good!

This weekend, Steven and I got a chance to go see Thor in 3D. I have to admit — I was pleasantly surprised. In my opinion, it was a pretty good movie — good special effects, good plot, and even a little romance! We had a good time!

It is always fun to go to the movies…you get to be a kid again and escape into another world for a little while. Speaking of big kids, I’m not sure who was more excited when the Nintendo 3Ds came out, my kids or my husband and brother-in-law. Every time I look up, this is what I see (even when we are on a walk!)…

It feels like I am one big contradiction! As much as I look forward to “me time”, as soon as I am alone, I start thinking: boy, this house is quiet; I wonder what the kids are doing; are they having fun; do they miss me? I mean, come on, woman! Just enjoy your alone time. But it’s not that easy. It’s like being so excited for Lucas to get bigger and start sleeping through the night and getting potty trained — and then missing having a little baby around. No matter what happens, it feels like I have a little tug to go the other way — is that just how life is? Are any of you like that? I guess even the weather is a contradiction — yesterday, it was sunny and hot — and then I wake up this morning and find this in my back yard:

Luckily, our flowers all survived the storm…
