My daughter is certain she will be a doctor, though she’s not sure if she wants to treat humans or animals!

I’d say she has a pretty good bedside manner :-)

As an extra bonus, Nana and Pop got this for the kids…we were happy to enjoy it with them!!!

My aim may not have been that good, but I kind of like the way they turned out…not your average picture :-)

But her brothers pounce on it any chance they get :-)

P.S.  This week is Shark Week on the Discovery Channel!  I’ve had a love for sharks since I was a little kid.  My parents love to tell the story about how I went to the library every day the summer after third grade and wrote my own report on those amazing sea creatures.  It is true :-)   I hope to pass on that love of learning to my kids…even if I am a bit of a nerd!!!

I have taken countless pictures of them, but (sadly) most of them were stored on my computer!  I know this is such an easy trap to fall into with digital — at least with film you almost always had at least a 4×6 copy of each picture — nowadays, so many images are just doomed forever to stay lost inside a computer or hard drive.

Well, this summer, I have really tried to change this!  With my mom’s help, I have started to fill my walls with images that make me smile…

Moved this image to the hallway by our den so we’d see it more often…

And right next to this picture (one of my favorites of all time)…

…I ordered these two…(gotta keep it all even with the three kids!) :-)

I encourage you to find some of your favorite images and get them enlarged — frame them and hang them on your walls!

(I think Aaron Brother’s Framing is having a big sale this weekend!)

Just seeing the things that you love all around you can make your day that much more enjoyable :-)

Usually I never get to finish a whole show during one sitting, but we at least record it and watch bits and pieces throughout the week… :-)

Good Guys — it’s based in Dallas, has a great theme song, and makes me laugh out loud!

Psych — my kind of humor and usually a good mystery to try and solve before my husband!

Cupcake Wars and DC Cupcakes — so many sweets, so little time!  Love to watch these with Emma!

The Next Food Network Star — I think Aarti is going to win it all!

24 Hour Restaurant Battle — I haven’t actually gotten through a full episode yet, but I love the concept!

It’s funny that I like to watch so many “food” shows when I am such an awful cook…maybe I’ll absorb all of this knowledge and just wake up one day with the inclination and skills of a chef… :-)   It’s fun to dream!

Today, I wanted to post about one of the things I need to work on: being happy!  The other day, I was standing in my room, pondering something, and Steven came up and gently took  me by the shoulders — he gave me a big smile and said BE HAPPY!!!  And he is right.  Sometimes, I tend to think way too much about things and let the negative thoughts (no matter how small or insignificant they may be) take control.  And then my whole mood sours.  And I pout.

So, today I want to encourage myself (and anyone else who may needs a gentle push) to just be happy.  We all have issues and problems and worries — some more than others — but we can all force ourselves to stop the pout and start smiling.

And just, be happy!!!
