He redeemed himself…

The last movie my husband and I went to see together was Transformers II.  Wow — I don’t think I’ve ever been offended on so many different levels.  Needless to say, my confidence in Steven’s movie-picking skills was shaken.  So when he suggested we go see the new Star Trek movie, I kept putting him off…and I put him off so much that it’s now out on DVD!  Well, when the last of our family headed home this past weekend after a fun holiday visit, we needed a little pick-me-up.  And I was in the mood to be daring…so off Steven went to Blockbuster — and for the past two nights (once the kids finally went to bed), we enjoyed a really good movie!  I give the new Star Trek two thumbs up!  Of course, there were a couple of crude remarks that I could’ve done without, but unfortunately, that’s pretty much standard these days!

In other news, I have been keeping up with two of my New Year’s Resolutions — daily journaling and picture-taking!  I think the key to this is that I have put NO restrictions on these activities…the journal entry doesn’t have to be novel-worthy and the photo doesn’t have to be a work of art.  It just has to be real life.  That’s what I’m really focused on capturing these days!

Here’s the image for January 1st…it’s Steven’s idea of perfection: chocolate chip-blueberry pancakes (prepared by my mom!):-)

steven - Those are great pancakes…!

I defend my movie picks – Frequency, Count of Monte Cristo, Batman Begins, Wolverine, Iron Man, Blindside (to be seen by you soon) and countless others that escape me right now…Occassionally, a stinker like Transformers II or the Notebook (at your request)will turn up….
